About Me!

Welcome to my blog for my EDUC407 course.

I just started to attend the University of La Verne this Spring. Before University of La Verne, I attended Citrus Community College where I received my associate degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences. I decided to come to La Verne for several different reasons. First, its super close to my house. Second, I have heard nothing but excellent things about ULV’s teaching program which really drew me to La Verne. As a result, I applied to ULV and got accepted! I was so excited and still am excited to be able to further my education here at La Verne. After I receive my bachelors here at La Verne, I hope to get my credential and masters here as well.

In my personal life, I am married and have a three year old son. My son is my mini-me and blesses my life in a tremendous way! I also work part-time for In-N-Out and have worked there for five years now. Currently, my husband, my son, and I live in La Verne with my parents until we can find a place of our own.  When I am not working or doing homework, I love to go to Disneyland, go to the beach, go on hikes, attend sporting events and just spend time with my family.

IMG_4499In addition to spending time with my family, I enjoy cooking! It makes me feel good to make something delicious that people can rave about to others! Cooking is a nice stress reliever for me. Also, I love to take pictures. My family says I am picture crazy because I have pictures everywhere (in my house) and all over my phone. I just think pictures are incredible because pictures capture special memories and moments in one snapshot! In the future I want to travel the world. I think it would be wonderful to travel and see other cultures, their customs, and their traditions. I can’t wait to do that in the future with my family.

  1. HI Raquel,

Your son is too cute! Good for you handling the task of wife, mother and student. It is a lot! You sound as though you got it:).

It was nice to speak with you the other night. I think we have a pretty cool team. I look forward to working with you.

I think between the five of us we should be able to manage our technical skills and have a great semester.

Enjoy your weekend, see ya on the blog!

  2. Hello Raquel, let me start off by saying that your son is so cute what a blessing. The University of La Verne is awesome. I am amazed at the quality of teaching and learning that goes on at the University. When you’re finished with your credential you will feel prepared to enter the classroom and teach. I look forward to working with you in this class. Have a great weekend.
    Smiles, Molly
